Reasons for Dental Implants
If missing teeth are your concern, our advanced implant technology will restore your smile, aesthetics and function. Accidents and cavities are just a few of the reasons you might lose a tooth. Dramatic advances in implant dentistry make it easier than ever for dentists to create a perfect smile for you. One tooth, multiple teeth, and even an entire smile can be rebuilt using dental implants. Custom Implants from Dr. Pav are tailored to meet the needs of each patient. The replacement system consist of two parts; a small titanium post that replaces the root and a top portion that replaces the crown.
Dr. Pav will do a thorough evaluation to see if you are a candidate for dental implants. With modern technology and advances in bone and tissue engineering, even very damaged tooth sites are potential candidates for dental implants. X-Rays and jaw impressions are taken during this visit.
Implant Placement Procedures
On the day of the implant procedure, Dr. Pav will anesthetize the area and place the implant into the toothless space.
After the implant is placed, Dr. Pav will schedule regular appointments to track the healing process. Throughout the healing process, you will be able to eat soft food in moderation and then begin to eat your typical diet after total healing has occurred.
Once the implant has fully healed and fused into your jawbone (four-to-six months following implant placement), a mold of the jaw and implant position can be taken and is sent to a lab for custom implant crown design. After the top of the implant has been made and customized, the crown can then be fitted into the toothless area. Patients that have had implants can eat, smile, and floss in the same way as if it was a natural tooth.
